Tracy Rathbone Named 2017 Woman of Distinction |

Cobb Executive Women (CEW) presented its 2017 Woman of Distinction Award to Tracy Rathbone, Executive Director of the Town Center Community Improvement District (TCCID). The Woman of Distinction Award recognizes a woman who has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her professional endeavors, community involvement, thereby supporting and advancing her community and respective fields. The award was presented at the Cobb Chamber’s May First Monday Breakfast event, sponsored by S.A. White Oil Company, Inc.
As Executive Director, Rathbone collaborates with state, county and city leaders and TCCID constituents to invest the approximately $3M of tax funds received each year to develop parks, trails and infrastructure within the district. She is also responsible for the oversight and direction of the TCCID’s strategy and execution. Prior to her work with the TCCID, Rathbone served as the Director of Business Development for Coxe Curry & Associates, metro Atlanta’s largest and most experienced nonprofit consulting firm. In this role, Rathbone was responsible for leading and overseeing the development of new business and marketing efforts for the firm as well as directing client engagements primarily in the Cobb region. Prior to Coxe Curry, Rathbone served as development director for St. Luke’s Community House in Nashville, Tennessee. Additionally, she was a founding member of the Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee, where she served as the organization’s first executive director.
As a Cobb County native, Rathbone is actively involved in her local community, serving in a number of volunteer capacities including: Cobb Chamber Board Member, Cobb’s Competitive EDGE Board Member, President of the Leadership Cobb Alumni Association, The Strand Theatre Advisory Board, The Walker School Parent Ambassador Committee, and Chair-Elect of liveSAFE Resources (formerly YWCA of Northwest Georgia). She is also a member of the 2017 Leadership Atlanta Class, Atlanta Regional Commission, Cobb 2040 Steering Committee, Council for Quality Growth, Kennesaw Business Association, Marietta Kiwanis, 2015 Regional Leadership Institute and Women in Transportation.
Rathbone was recognized with the Spirit Award for her work with the Leadership Cobb Class of 2012 and received the McNeel-Gilbert Award for League Service from the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta in 2011. Rathbone was named one of Cobb County’s “Top 20 Under 40” by Cobb Life Magazine in 2013 and was named a 2014 Woman of Achievement by liveSAFE Resources.
Rathbone has been honored as a Distinguished Alumna of Vanderbilt University where she earned her M.Ed. She also graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Psychology from Georgia State University and an A.A. from Oxford College of Emory University. She and her daughter, Lila, live in Smyrna and love to travel, dance and hike Kennesaw Mountain.
